Hi Victor,

sorry for the late reply (I was too busy outdoors). Thank you for this interesting information.

The Corcaguiny barony should be complete, also with name:en, except for any more mistakes maybe :-).

Would it be possible to point me to the right contacts of the projects you mentioned? I would like to contribute and will have to learn more for this.

I think I could create a JOSM changeset to update townlands using the location point stored in the logainm data, which should resolve most ambiguity. But this should be discussed with the proper people and I would have to get more knowledge about the different projects. I think it should be possible to double-check the changeset before it is applied and I could do a prototype first (the Iveragh barony for example, where a lot is missing currently).

I have done such things before while working for the GIS department of the City of Vienna (though not with OpenSource tools and so this will be a learning process), but have retired in Ireland now. It would not happen fast as I prefer being outdoors instead of behind a computer :-).

Kind Regards,
Gerhard

Thank you very much for the warning! So I got 1104, the parish, by mistake and you have corrected it now?

I was wondering, why most townlands on the Dingle Peninsula already had the Irish name, the link and reference number. I suspected it was done automatically for all Ireland until I discovered the missing ones on the peninsula and that there is much less of this information available in the rest of Kerry/Ireland.

Maybe you know more about this? I have completed the Dingle Peninsula now, hopefully with not too many mistakes. But it should be theoretically possible to automatically add the Irish name and links where it is missing using the JSON download of logainm.ie. I admit I have not looked into this in detail yet. Just an idea.

Kind Regards,
Gerhard
