Decided to try my hand at a bit of satellite imagery tracing last night, so downloaded JOSM and had a go of it. A little while later I'd managed to add the entirety of Whipps Cross University Hospital, Leytonstone Library, St. John's Leytonstone church and graveyard, and two local superstores and their parking lots. Fun!
Today having come across http://www.opencyclemap.org/ I've started tagging the local cycle routes as coverage was a bit lacking around here. Hopefully I'll be able to do the whole borough, although I need a newer copy of the TfL London Cycle Guide Area 6 - mine dates from 2004!

You can't copy from the TfL London Cycle Guides, due to copyright. You need to follow the route on the ground, which in most boroughs is sign posted. You can use the guides to find out where they are as long as you go on the ground and follow them.
