I'm trying to add some roads in India (from my last trip).
Thereby I noticed, that the satellite picture is misaligned a lot.
I drew a footpath which should be very close to the coast.
Has anybody an idea, how to address that?

You haven't said which editor you're using, but if it's potlatch, hold down the space bar and drag the background imagery to align with a known feature on the map - in your case, I guess the coast!
Don't use JOSM, but it may be a similar fix. HTH

Thank you for your fast response. That is really possible.
The problem is, that the coastlines and a lot of things based on the picture are on the wrong spot. And this will happen again, if one doesn't save the position of picture. How can one correct those things permanently?

The permanent solution I guess is to report to Yahoo! that their satellite image in that area is misaligned. It should be possible to submit GPS traces as proof.
(As to how to report to Yahoo!, that's a different problem altogether.)
