56775180 | over 7 years ago | Hi CSharp, I noticed you added a playground zone to the map along Hamptons Drive NW by adding another way on top of the existing one. You don't need to do this. I fixed this by splitting the existing road way into separate sections. You can split ways into multiple parts by right-clicking a node and selecting 'split' (or typing 'x'). Cheers! |
56392363 | over 7 years ago | Sorry, screwed up the edit summary of this; I added racetracks at Wild Rose Motocross Park. |

55729346 | over 7 years ago | I'm still learned too. I fixed this mistake for you. Cheers |
55729346 | over 7 years ago | Please be careful editing administrative boundaries. It appears that in your attempt to create the administrative boundary for Sheaves Cove you had inadvertently changed the name of all of Newfoundland and Labrador to Sheaves Cove! |
55794039 | over 7 years ago | Your office is in the Safeway parking lot? Really? |
55391078 | over 7 years ago | So, I walked past this parking lot today... and the parking ticket vending machine you deleted is in fact still there. Why'd you delete it? Please don't randomly delete stuff off the map. |
55391078 | over 7 years ago | Is this parking ticket vending machine not still there? |
54643954 | over 7 years ago | Canvec is a decade out of date... |
54772427 | over 7 years ago | Sorry, that's changeset 53626732 (osm.org/changeset/53626732)... |
54643954 | over 7 years ago | The road way you renamed to "Strathcona Street Southwest" is in fact signed "Grey Eagle Drive". The address of the casino here is on "Grey Eagle Drive". Please refrain from changing this. |
54587414 | over 7 years ago | This changeset hasn't 'updated' the roads geometry: it has broken it. Specifically with respect to Falaise Avenue SW this isn't what the road looks like now, what it looked like before construction began, nor what it's supposed to look like when construction is complete. This is a fabrication, a fiction. In future PLEASE heed osm.org/note/1095805 and just leave the roads here alone for the time being. |
50489322 | almost 8 years ago | It may very well be vacant, I've honestly never actually set foot in the building. Either way the building itself is still there, and definitely still has "Outdoor Resource Centre" painted on the side of it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ |

50850086 | almost 8 years ago | I just don't understand that line of reasoning, Doug. It's one thing to delete something because it's blatantly wrong, but why delete something entirely as "litter"? How can it be "litter"? It's there, it exists: there will never (accurately) be anything else on the map at this exact spot. Would we rather have a blank spot on the map? Whether it's public or private ought to be irrelevant. There are private golf courses all over; are we going to delete those too? You say "I oppose addition of such things unless properly tagged": why don't you add the information then? "Properly" tag 'em? I don't mean to single you out, it just seems counterintuitive to rid the map of something that's objectively, factually existent. Especially for no greater purpose than... well, seemingly that you "just don't like it". |
50547542 | about 8 years ago | "8 Avenue;Stephen Avenue" may not have been the most elegant solution, but the road signs display both names, and locals refer to both names interchangeably. "alt_name=" should be used where one name has prevalence over the other, but in this case one is not prevalent over the other. In this case "Stephen Avenue" is both an "old_name" AND the current name... |
50119697 | about 8 years ago | FYI the row of triangles painted on the road you mentioned in your comment on note 1028107 is a "yield line". Definitely a rare pavement marking in Calgary; the only other ones I can think of off the top of my head are on 8th St SW at the intersection with 14th Ave. |
50407963 | about 8 years ago | I generally don't include inner areas of buildings either, but this building's inner area is actually clearly visible from ground level: the walls of the enclosing corridor on the east side of the building are mostly glazing. You can see right in from the street. When I first drew in the outline for Central Memorial it seemed kind of disingenuous to *not* include the fact that a big chunk of the inner area of the building is clearly a patch of dirt. I agree landuse=grass is dubious, but I couldn't find anything more appropriate. 'Park'? The distinction between landuse=grass and landcover=grass is especially confusing... As for parking lot tagging, I've been torn about what I'd been doing as many of these lots don't have any "name" per se and something like "shopping centre parking" is more a description than a name. Parking lots operated by the CPA and big parking companies (Impark, Indigo/WestPark, etc.) I definitely name with the company's associated lot #. I admittedly don't use any mobile apps so I haven't a clue what info they give about parking but I would hope a well-written app spitting out a list would include access! I try to make sure I've included access whenever I add a parking area. Cheers |
50407963 | about 8 years ago | Thanks for fixing this. :) |
50191422 | about 8 years ago | Why did you do this? I had pretty accurately drawn this school, complete with this inner courtyard. Deleting the way that defined the courtyard broke the relation and now the school building doesn't render at all, it's just a line. If there's a better way of doing what I'd done I'd love to know. |
