169688964 | ier 18 de jorns | Hello Svetlana, Respectfully, the name of this park certainly isn't the descriptive "St. Andrew's Heights & West Hillhurst Off-Leash Area", nor is it spelled in all-caps. You also deleted the name from the park area, but added a name back to the patch of scrubby brush in the middle of the park; I suspect that was not your intention. I've restored the "Karl Baker" name to the park area, and updated the tagging of this area to `leisure=dog_park`. I've added a 'fix-me' note (using the `fixme` tag) asking if someone can confirm the name's source. See osm.org/changeset/169783392 Just a friendly heads-up: even if a name is not official it does not mean it's not valid. It doesn't need to be "authorized" to be true. I'm probably very similarly skeptical of 'unofficial' names as you are, but we also have a tag for "official name" if it happens to have an official name that isn't the same as its most common one. |
169520750 | ier 19 de jorns | *Sorry, typo: the apartments' postal code is T2G 4Z9 (not 0Z9) |
169520750 | ier 19 de jorns | With respect to the postal codes: on the contrary, T2G 0G4 is the correct one. These commercial retail units (CRUs) have their own addresses on 6th Avenue (211, 215, 219, 233, 245) not shared with the Rocky Mountain Court apartment building (221). Their postal code is indeed T2G 0G4, whereas the apartments' postal code is T2G 0Z9. Likewise the pizza joint and Latino restaurant/bakery facing Macleod Trail have their own addresses with an entirely different postal code (T2G 2M1). In effect you've done what you accused others of doing: copying from Google Maps. You saw an error there (the building's postal code), erroneously assumed that the building's postal code was also used by the CRUs facing 6th Avenue, and introduced an error on OSM based on that false assumption. I've manually restored the correct postal codes. (See osm.org/changeset/169729713) Please be careful with postal codes downtown: many buildings have more than one. |
169680286 | ier 19 de jorns | The `layer` tag does not need to be used on a bridge segment... |
169409849 | ier 25 de jorns | Oops, my bad; that was definitely a copy-paste error on my part. Thanks for fixing it! |
169154773 | ier 26 de jorns | I should also elaborate on an important reason to distinguish the NMC from Studio Bell building itself: Studio Bell isn't the only building the NMC operates! They also own and operate the adjacent King Edward Hotel ("the King Eddy"), which Studio Bell spans above/across on the west side of 4th Street. |
169154773 | ier 26 de jorns | Hello Jroc, Thanks for your contributions to the map. That said, I have reverted your change here, because it's conflating the NMC with the building within which it is located. The NMC is the museum; Studio Bell is the building (osm.org/way/317559844). Cheers |
167285870 | fa près de 1 mes | Hi pedalhoppy, Respectfully, I wouldn't exactly call this name "common". Now I'm not a cyclist, but I've heard of and know where e.g. Sideshow Bob is. However, I've *never* heard the name "Shlooshway". I would tend to err on the side of tagging this as an "alternate name", using the key `alt_name`. I was going to do so, but I noticed some path segments along the way were not tagged with the name, which made me wonder: what are the extents of "Shlooshway"? Does it just run from 1st Street SE to 12th Street SE? Would it be fair to presume that this relation (osm.org/relation/18228641) is coincident with "Shlooshway"? If so, I would tag the *route* with this `alt_name`, not the path segments. |
168793508 | fa près de 1 mes | Hi Sanjana, FYI I have deleted this turn restriction because it's not necessary. The 'to' element in the relation you added is already a one-way road that only allows traffic from the 'from' element to turn right. I have no doubt there's a right-turn-only sign here "on the ground", but you don't need to map the turn restriction when the one-way on the intersecting road already precludes traffic from being routed left. Just wanted to let you know. Thanks for your contributions. :) |
168759397 | fa près de 1 mes | ... and split up 20th Street north of 33rd, to reflect the island in the middle that prevents traffic from turning left into/out of the parking lot at the "Marda Loop Centre" retail area. Seems my change summary got cut off/I accidentally screwed it up; oops. |

162183934 | fa près de 4 de mes | Hello and welcome to OpenStreetMap. Respectfully, your changes to these parking lots (osm.org/way/152762529, osm.org/way/506264550) don't seem to be accurate: there's no "day care" being built on 14th Avenue, and likewise the parking lot on 13th Avenue was still there when I drove past it a few weeks ago. Do you have any more information to substantiate these changes? Absent more info I am otherwise going to change them back. Thanks |
164664710 | fa près de 4 de mes | I have field-verified this: there is indeed a no-right-turn restriction from 12th Street into the alley. And a no-left. In point of fact: it's now a one-way going eastbound, you can't enter the alley from 12th at all. As such I've deleted the turn restriction added here and made a final section of the east end of the alley an eastbound one-way. See osm.org/changeset/164874198 :) |
164664710 | fa près de 4 de mes | Hello, You've added a no-*right*-turn restriction from 12th Street to the alley north of 8th Avenue; may I ask how recent the Lyft-owned street imagery you're working off of is? I ask because I've crossed the bridge recently, and I don't recall there being any restrictions there at all. In fact the only signage I remember being there is a warning to yield to the cyclists in the bike lanes. |
164233425 | fa près de 5 de mes | "Grove Street — home. At least it was before I $#%@ed everything up..." :P |
164190189 | fa près de 5 de mes | 🩸🫀🫁🧟🧠💀 ("gore") 🙃 |
163742119 | fa près de 5 de mes | I have added the turn restriction you added a fixme note for, plus the pre-existing left-turn restriction from 8th Ave onto Danloe which is only in effect from 7:00-8:30 am, Monday to Friday. (see osm.org/changeset/163753894) You seem like a very adept mapper; FYI an explanation of conditional turn restrictions can be found here: osm.wiki/Conditional_restrictions Happy mapping :) |
163236295 | fa près de 6 de mes | I have undone some of the changes made in this changeset; see osm.org/changeset/163253337 and osm.org/changeset/163255141, and osm.org/note/4652100. |
162293741 | fa près de 6 de mes | Hello BorrisMorris, and welcome to OpenStreetMap. FYI I have deleted the tennis court node you added here; the tennis court is already on the map, represented by this area: osm.org/way/264488509 Because it's already on the map, adding the additional separate node isn't necessary. Cheers |
161916360 | fa près de 6 de mes | Hello, Thanks for your contributions to the map, but I have a question: where did you get the 'name' for this building. This is an apartment building—you even tagged it as a residential building—yet you added the name "Calgary Aluminum Wiring Repair", which is clearly nonsense. I fear you got this from a "home business" that happens to be on Google Maps. Please note that we cannot use data from Google Maps, as it's copyright protected and thus not compliant with OpenStreetMap's licensing. Please see osm.wiki/Google Thanks! |
