17586061 | 超過2年前 | If amenity=refugee_site is nowadays use then that's better. ... But thinking about it I would hesitate to classify areas that were refugee camps 12 years ago as still being refugee camps. Even in Haiti these would more likely nowadays be informal settlements or something along those lines. More broadly, as commented on the other note: These where camps related to providing temporary(?) housing for those people who lost their homes in the 2010 earthquake. Given Haiti's situation one would need to resurvey the area (or use newer imagery) to verify if those camps still exist or not.
=> I would try to check with someone who has local knowledge about what would make sense nowadays. Recent imagery might likely help as a tool. |
15376181 | 超過2年前 | This is a tag related to the HOT's efforts to facilitating the creation of OSM communities in Haiti. See e.g.
As background: I lived in Haiti 2010-2013, was closely involved with HOT mapping in Haiti that time, and was on the HOT board around 2013-2015 so I have a pretty good understanding of how things where them -- not super organized! :)

Needs to be remembered that this was a time when humanitarian mapping was very much in early days of the making. As background: I lived in Haiti 2010-2013 and was closely involved with HOT mapping in Haiti that time so I have a pretty good understanding of how things where them -- but not anymore as I haven't been active with HOT/OSM in about 7 years or so. |

37965549 | 超過9年前 | I surely try to remember that. Thanks for reminding. As you can see this was added with OsmAnd while on the go and it doesn't have a preset for internet connections. Wifi was what I remembered. Happy mapping!

26813194 | 超過9年前 | Ah, ok for the all way stop. That makes sense -- even though I can see how it also causes a good(?) chunk of possible if not likely mistakes by less advanced mappers... Yea, the backlog of notes is painfully easy to accumulate. .. And of course it's more of a filtering problem than anything else anyways. I had almost a year not not resolving much any myself and only just a few weeks back took it on the table to get above the waterline again. Oh the disruptions that a baby causes in your life and mapping activities! ;) |
26813194 | 超過9年前 | Oh, forgot to mention. You have an open note about the stop next to the intersection. Pls close that if it's no longer valid. |
26813194 | 超過9年前 | Hi,

31902082 | 超過9年前 | ok, so I just added it to the area in question here.. (Not yet to DCA). |
31902082 | 超過9年前 | Hi Bryce, Just wanted to ping you that I too have thought about the tagging of pet relief areas at times (since having had a dog from 5 years ago). Thus far the only thing I've done is created one OSM Note to the DCA airport w/ a Q of how to tag these!

36999561 | 超過9年前 | Information regarding EEZ is in OSM wiki as noted at osm.org/changeset/36996901 |
36996901 | 超過9年前 | And if anyone is wondering about EEZ it stands for Exclusive Economic Zone and some more info on it can be found e.g. in OSM wiki at osm.wiki/Tag:boundary%3Dmaritime#Exclusive_economic_zone_.28EEZ.29_.28200.C2.A0nm_zone.29 |
36689030 | 超過9年前 | Thanks for the comment, GerdP. That was clearly a typo in the midst of a remove-a-bunch-map-notes-athon... I'm in favor of using the was:* prefix, which I like both because it a general description for "something was here (and it's still visible in most common imagery/-ies -- so don't add it back)" and also for the convenient reason that it sorts at the bottom of tags, as they are usually sorted in alphabetical order.

28050225 | 超過10年前 | Big thanks, Peter, for fixing my map notes in the area! |
27146368 | 超過10年前 | Thanks for fixing some of my notes in the area. Re: Lululemon (osm.org/note/278661) Yes, it's now in the space that Cosi used to be in. So (now at the computer) I deleted the node and put new information on the building outline (osm.org/way/205023948/history). |
