I'm primarily mapping the Windhoek area by quad bike and car - at least whenever I remember to take my GPS along. In the previous weeks I've pretty much cleaned up some duplicate roads, added some more tags to whatever was there and added parts of Cimbebasia, Academia, Hochlandpark, Windhoek West and Windhoek Central.
I'll continue to drive through roads where no OSMer has driven before.
Let's try to put more of Windhoek and Namibia in general on the map completely.. what is being sold around here should often not be called "map" but "crap". OSM can only make it better :-)

Quad bike OSM mapping, now that sounds like fun!

Keep up the good work. I'll be in Namibia for 3 weeks in the summer (err, sorry that's your winter isn't it) to check up on you!
We were last in Africa 14 years ago, and although we had a primitive GPS it only served to show how poor a lot of the maps were. Some of them appeared to have been drawn freehand.

Well, yes: QuadMapping is really the fun part of it. You reach most places (even through narrow tracks roads) and you can easily carry whatever you need for a picnic or a sun-downer.
