The best way I can find in Potlatch (where they are called out with a pulsing red circle) is to delete the upper node, split the overlying way(s), extend them to the exposed lower node and rejoin them to it. Is there a better way or reason not to do so where/when I find them?

Yesterday I added 9 changesets, most ways tagged with what Potlatch comes up with for "public footpaths", highway=footway, foot=yes. I added bicycle=yes and, where (mostly) appropriate, surface=paved. But I wonder if I had better be using highway=track for these 2-3m wide meandering asphalt pathways in parks?

When I upload several traces in a zip file they seem to get concatenated. Almost all of them begin and end at my house, so no problem. When they don't, how much of a problem are the spurious, long-distance connecting segments? I guess the same problem arises in single gpx files. Do people make efforts (are there filters) to eliminate these?

And on GPS Traces, should I be taking care to eliminate waypoints or do they have value?
