(Oh drat.. I just saw there's a missing 0 in the opening hours format. It should be "Mo-Su 08:00-02:00" not "Mo-Su 08:00-2:00".. sorry!)

The opening hours format is perfect. A few unrelated notes:

- The Erv's node is outside the building's footprint. Not your fault, I know, it was like that when you found it. But if Erv's is inside the building, and I think it is, the node should be moved inside the footprint.

- There's no need to fill in the city, state, and country parts of the address -- they'll be deduced from the node's location and zip code. It's not wrong to add them, but it saves time and database space to skip them. (Address tagging styles vary across the globe, but best I can tell this is the local standard -- except in Queens, where the addresses use neighborhood names for the city, so we tend to add those as the city name.)

- The original intent of the "brewery" tag was to indicate what brewer a particular bar or pub is associated with -- this is very common in Europe, but much less so here. Some people use this tag to list brands of draft beer available, some use brewery=yes to indicate that there's a brewery onsite, like you did. Personally I think it's better to omit it in 99.9% of the bars in NYC.

In the wiki documentation the suggested tags for an onsite brewery are microbrewery=yes (for a brewpub/microbrewery) or craft=brewery (for a larger scale brewing operation, but not large enough to be tagged industrial=brewery). See

Erv's looks like a nice place... gotta get over there sometime!

oops, my bad!

Sure, and just to be clear: Only tag the building itself with business tags if it's a single-purpose building. If it has contains anything else -- apartments upstairs, or even a vacant shop -- better to use a node. Basically, when in doubt, nodes are better.

Please don't hesitate to message me if you have any questions -- very happy to help. Good luck & happy mapping!

Hi Emily, welcome to OSM! This McDonald's looks great, very thorough!

One question -- is this entire building McDonald's? Offhand it looks like it is. When a single business (or other amenity etc) is the sole tenant of a building (ie, the building houses no other businesses or offices or residential units), we usually prefer to put the tags on the building itself rather than using a node. Just to be clear -- the way you did it is *not* incorrect! But putting the tags on the building provides a little extra information, namely that the building is single-purpose.

Thanks for contribution -- there are a ton of unmapped businesses in this neighborhood so I hope you will continue mapping! J

Ok thanks -- I revised the service_times field to comply with the standard syntax.

Hi vioelmaps -- are there really two separate Turkish Grills here? Certainly that's possible, but the fact that they have the same phone number gives me pause.

66934656 over 6 years ago

Hi vioelmaps, thanks for you contributions!

To answer your question (is that node even necessary?) -- it depends whether CVS is the only thing with the address 41-02 Queens Boulevard.

If CVS is the only thing with that address, the extra node should be deleted.

If other POIs are using the same address, but they are also mapped separately (eg, if Salt & Fat were also 41-02) then the extra node can still be deleted, because it doesn't refer to anything that's not mapped elsewhere.

But if there's something else sharing the same address that's not explicitly mapped -- a vacant business, an entrance to a residence above the shop, or even just a mysterious door marked only with the address -- better to keep the extra address node too.

Note that this is usually only an issue for buildings that have multiple addresses -- in this case because the building is on a corner. Buildings with a single address will have the address tags on the building itself and so 1) won't need separate address nodes and 2) POI nodes inside don't need explicit address tags because they will inherit from the building.

good luck, jmapb

Hi jch8ri -- are the service times you added every day of the week, or Sundays only?

Hi, the address you've used is 124 2nd Ave but the node is located inside 122 -- is it possible the node needs to be moved?

Hi Oleg -- is osm.org/node/6264915985 really a hospital? It looks a little small. Maybe healthcare=centre or healthcare=clinic would be more appropriate.

Also, from imagery it looks like the full name is "Professional Medical Plaza" not just "Medical Plaza". Can you confirm?

Great, thanks. I've changed it from amenity=cafe to disused:amenity=cafe.

67233395 over 6 years ago

(No other obvious reason for it to be two-way, that is.)

67233395 over 6 years ago

Though crossing the lanes of North Conduit might prove difficult in traffic, there's no signage preventing it, and there's no other obvious purpose for the Cranston segment between 138th Ave and North Conduit.

Hi dcehlk -- is this location still operating as a cafe under a different name, or is it currently disused?

Hi Madi12 -- what's the source for these speed limits?

66794170 over 6 years ago

Hi again, if I don't hear back from you I'm inclined to revert this changeset, as it's currently a map error.

66794170 over 6 years ago

Hi yonatanlivney, can you clarify this changeset? You've created a new building (way 66794170) overtop of three existing buildings. Have these old buildings been demolished? Are the old addresses (1 Bond, 7 Bond, and 350 Lafayette) no longer in use?

66761364 over 6 years ago

Hi -- This office is tagged with address 4910 but the node is placed in the building 4908. Is it possible that the node is positioned incorrectly?

66756364 over 6 years ago

Hi Shane-Lester 99, welcome to OSM!

It looks like you've added a building here ( osm.org/way/667064179 ) overtop of an existing building ( osm.org/way/241845016 ). This is considered a mapping error. It's probably better to just draw a node for St Johns and put it inside the existing building, rather than creating a new one. It would also be good to tag it with some basic info, like "amenity=college" and "website=https://www.stjohns.edu/campuses/manhattan"

I'd be happy to assist with this if you have any questions.

Thanks for your contributions, jmapb
