Damascus Sheraton

Posted by jonnymaserati on 18 January 2009 in English.

Went to the Sheraton in the center of Damascus for lunch this weekend and have added the hotel and the service road to the hotel's parking to the map.

I noticed that the main road that I exited off needs modifying, since it should be two one way roads, not a single road as shown on the map at the moment.

Also made a modification to the roundabout near Shami Hospital and added a bit of park.

Last week I added the tunnels under "crazy roundabout", but I think there's another bit of tunnel to add here?

I continue to modify the names of places with both English and Arabic and ensuring when I do so that the Arabic name is also given a name:ar key (plus the name:en key). Would be good if others followed suit, otherwise these maps are only any use to Arabic readers.

Hi there,

it is a good idea to have both arabic/english tags, however as the maps get more and more crowded it might becom unreadble due to tags overlapp.

cheers

hi there metehyi

you're right, it could become crowded with dual language "name" tags (although the way the map filters on zoom level seems to work quite well), but if "name:en" and "name:ar" are used it shouldn't get cluttered since only the "name" key is displayed and hopefully in the future we'll be able to choose if we want "name:en" or "name:ar" only displayed?

cheers...
