The problem we dont have enough facilities tha t will enable us to do that job. as we neen computers, GPG and Camera.
Am requesting for one to provide a support in those materials so as to proceed mapping
currently we are doing in hard condition due to lack of facilities. thanks

I believe that the Army Mapping Service has a map of your area.

I believe that Army Mapping Service maps count as public domain. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_copyright_law#Public_domain

Maybe the GPStogo scheme could help, by loaning some GPS devices? http://www.osmfoundation.org/wiki/GPStogo

It is true for loaning some GPS devices, and am very interested in doing openstreet mapping, but the problem is that i cant access fund to pay back the loan within that mentioned period of time.
we people from developing countries apart from having other problems in our settlements majority of us, we are of low income earners.
We still have many informal settlements that need to be mapped.

Maybe the Tanzanian community can look into the Brazilian lend-a-gps model, where an organization is the owner of the gps units, and allows users fitting a predefined criteria use the unit for a pre-determined period of time. I think there is some information about it on the wiki, but as far as I know, only in Portuguese.

Jonston, the GPStogo scheme mentioned above provides GPS units to borrow free of charge (funded by donations) on the condition that OSM contribution takes place - see the link above.
