OpenStreetMap
Last week the Massachusetts mapping department (MassGIS) released [data] (http://www.mass.gov/anf/research-and-tech/it-serv-and-support/application-serv/office-of-geographic-information-massgis/datalayers/structures.html) for all of the buildings in the state.
Since it is likely that next year we will be importing this data into OSM to support addresses, I figured it would be useful to convert the files to OSM format and share them.
The data is here.
MassGIS Buildings Converted to OSM format
Each town in MA has its own ZIP file. In each zip file is two OSM files. One OSM file has all of the buildings in the MassGIS data set. The second file has just the buildings that are missing from OSM.
If you are mapping in MA, please take a look.

Basically, the license is fine because it comes from MassGIS. Nobody has signed up to actually push this into OSM yet. I was hoping that people that are mapping in MA, would take a look at the data and see what it looks like first then we can see what makes sense to do next.

I have listed every city that you have a data file with. Using a public spreadsheet instead of the wiki tends to make things less complicated I have found with previous large scale imports.
I’m going to take a look at the data for a couple of the cities I have work on in the past in MA. If it looks good I’ll probably the city a go. I took a quick look this morning and the data appears to be very high quality and well which is what I would expect from massGIS. Could you post the link to the list? I currently lack email access as it is blocked by my work.
