112267868 | almost 3 years ago | Hi Dave. As per the latest Thailand wiki minor road revision I worked on with Nat and others last year, highway classification would be tagged based on their purposes/importance, and not solely based on their surface, or smoothness tag (although those extra tags can help decide). e.g. highway=track is used agricultural/forestry purposes, and it’s perfectly acceptable to have some paved. On the other hand, a link between two villages could be 4wd-only and would still be tagged as unclassified which is reserved for main minor roads (e.g. “quaternary”) I know this may be different from the way you and others may have tagged in the past, but in the same time we had Grab converting every kind of minor road into residential, including tracks which had no surface tags, so we lost a huge amount of information and maps became unusable. The new revision is not perfect but it helps cleanup Grab’s mess and make the maps more consistent. If you have any concerns about the current scheme, please open a new ticket in the community site.

112267868 | almost 3 years ago | Hi Dave. Thanks for reaching out. If I recall it correctly, it was a 1-lane canal dirt track. I would normally leave it as a track because there seemed to be no residence along and while it can be used as a shortcut, it does not seem to be used as thru-traffic like nearby paved unclassified.
I agree, there are tons of highway=track tagged long ago that deserve a better tag. I try to upgrade those sections in residential areas and the main roads between villages in more remote areas. For those rural/urban areas I find it more difficult to decide. Like you already do so well, I am also trying to add missing tags like surface, lanes so it’s easier to make a decision later.

127455127 | almost 3 years ago | Thanks for your contributions! I see you have re-aligned many roads, and you are using Bing, please be aware that roads should be ideally aligned based on GPS traces (overlay in iD) and that Bing has often misalignment issues. Maxar is generally the best alternative imagery and can be chosen from the backgrounds menu in iD editor. For more info: osm.wiki/WikiProject_Thailand#Aerial_imagery

126456020 | almost 3 years ago | Hi markbegbie, no worries, there is no way actually to delete or split a changeset that is already submitted to OpenStreetMap. Just make sure you have "Upload answers automatically" set to on in your StreetComplete settings menu. As long as you have an internet connection, each StreetComplete change will be uploaded separately. Julien

126169303 | almost 3 years ago | Hi. If you are 100% sure both ways are not connected, please use a noexit=yes tag for the last nodes, otherwise, someone else may reconnect them.
