135228842 | over 2 years ago | Hallo!

135084379 | over 2 years ago | Hello Sumittra_GrabTH, kindly refer to this post for categorizing roads that are too narrow for motorcars:

135046864 | over 2 years ago | Hey Sumittra_GrabTH, I was curious about the source you used for motorcar=destination on this narrow public road. As far as I know, there are no signed restrictions.

134924189 | over 2 years ago | Puisque vous utilisez déjà une campagne MapRoulette, pourquoi ne pas simplement éditer chaque emplacement individuellement via le mécanisme d'édition de MapRoulette ? De plus, selon le wiki, JOSM permet de diviser les modifications effectuées sur une grande zone en enregistrements de parties plus petites pour une gestion plus facile, comme indiqué dans le wiki OpenStreetMap : osm.wiki/Changeset#Geographical_size_of_changesets Why not utilize the MapRoulette editing mechanism to edit each location individually since you are already using a MapRoulette campaign? Additionally, JOSM allows you to split changes made across a larger area into smaller parts for easier management, as mentioned in the OpenStreetMap wiki: osm.wiki/Changeset#Geographical_size_of_changesets

134602842 | over 2 years ago | Hey ManelG, thanks for your amazing contributions to OpenStreetMap! Just a friendly reminder to please remember to save your changes before moving to the next location. It's helpful to keep changesets localized and smaller so they can be reviewed more easily, especially since each country may have different guidelines. Check out this link for more information: osm.wiki/Changeset#Geographical_size_of_changesets

134636991 | over 2 years ago | Hey gaberdo84, welcome to OpenStreetMap! I noticed that you made edits in 5 different countries, which is quite impressive for a new mapper. Just a friendly tip for next time, it's best to start mapping in your local area based on your personal experiences, and take it slow as you learn more about the mapping process. Happy mapping!

134519963 | over 2 years ago | Hey there Patig! Welcome to OpenStreetMap and thanks for your awesome contributions! Just a quick heads up, if the road doesn't have a sign indicating a max speed of 40km/h, it's best to remove the tag. You can find more information about this topic in this forum post: https://community.openstreetmap.org/t/review-speed-limit-cases-in-thailand-that-have-mph/97428/2. Keep up the great work!

134447561 | over 2 years ago | Hey there! Just wanted to give you a heads up that using motorcar=no is only for roads where there's a sign that says cars aren't allowed. For narrow roads, it's better to use highway=path and add a width tag. You can learn more about this in this forum post: https://community.openstreetmap.org/t/re-classifying-service-alley-and-other-narrow-roads-chiang-mai/97397. Thanks!

134527530 | over 2 years ago | Hey there! I noticed that you made a change to a node in Germany while editing in Vietnam. Was this a mistake or unintended?
|
134527052 | over 2 years ago | hi Summittra, what is the meaning of your motorcar=no? is the road too narrow for cars? or is there a sign saying no cars are allowed ? Please refer to this thread for more info: https://community.openstreetmap.org/t/re-classifying-service-alley-and-other-narrow-roads-chiang-mai/97397

134367886 | over 2 years ago | Hey, thanks a lot for your amazing work! Just a quick heads-up, in Thailand, the Bing imagery can sometimes be outdated or misaligned. Although it doesn't seem to be a problem in this particular area, it's always a good idea to double-check with other sources such as Maxar or Mapbox. Keep up the good mapping! |
121938813 | over 2 years ago | Hey Dave, Usually, I add source:name=sign when I see a sign at the entrance/exit of a village, but to be honest, I don't really remember this location and didn't upload any ground truth photos to Mapillary at the time (which I do now every time). So, it's quite possible that what you mentioned is correct. Please feel free to change it. On a side note, during that trip, we were amazed to find that most of the mapped tracks between settlements had been recently paved. There should be many more of these further west, but we were running out of time. As you found out, many of these may have refs and can be upgraded to tertiary. Cheers,

134177840 | over 2 years ago | hey, what did you change exactly? and why did you make both a change in South Africa and China?
|
134183670 | over 2 years ago | hey, what exact change did you make to the the Chiang Rai province ?
|
134157936 | over 2 years ago | thanks for the update. I moved the gate on the adjacent highway and out of the junction. for more info, see: osm.wiki/Key:barrier#How_to_map_barrier_nodes |
133929104 | over 2 years ago | what is the source for the access tags (motorcar=yes, motorcycle=no) ? I do not see any signs on Mapillary.
|
133964759 | over 2 years ago | if the road is indeed a dead-end, please do not forget to add `noexit=yes` on the last node. For more info, see https://community.openstreetmap.org/t/confirming-unconnected-highways/96522

132993916 | over 2 years ago | Hi AndrewCNX, these roads were correctly classified as per the Thailand wiki. They are not significant thru-traffic, nor their main purpose is to provide access to permanent residences. Service roads do not automatically imply private access and can be public without an access=* tag. Since we had already an exchange last year about this exact topic, and you seem to still not agree with the general consensus, I invite you again to take note of the Thailand Wiki definitions or share your concerns with the community. Until then, I have reverted your changes. Thank you for your understanding. https://community.openstreetmap.org/t/thailand-s-minor-road-classifications-revision-proposal-unclassified-vs-service-vs-residential-vs-track/5805/5
