Manipulating EXIF-data

kallies님이 English로 2009년 2월 3일에 게시함.

After taking pictures while mapping I had the idea of adding gps coordinates to these pictures taken. I knew that this is possible but I never did it. There was only a loose binding because I had my pictures on one hand an my traces on the other. Today I tried getting these gps digits into my pictures. First I had some trouble with manipulating EXIF-data but exiv2 (http://www.exiv2.org/) did the job. After that adding gps data was a breeze with gpscorrelate (http://freefoote.dview.net/linux_gpscorr.html). BTW, the CLI version. ;-)

JOSM can do this to. Just right-click on your loaded gpx Track and choose 'Import Images' (or similar). You can import an entire folder of images and you have the oportunity to fine-tune the time offset between your GPSd and your camera.

Nice feature, and works on every platform.

Also usually a good idea is to take a pic to the gps display if this one is showing the date and time. With this info its very easy later to correlate the pics.

@Chaos99 I'm using this feature since I'm using JOSM. But I think JOSM can't write back the gps data to the images. CMIIAW.

@PerroVerd: Funny thing, the first picture I tried adding gps data to was a picture of my logger (Holux M-241) to correct the time. I've also uploaded it as my user image.

Also check out DigiKam - it's about the best photo manager I've found and has a geotagging plugin.
