I like it when one of my edits makes a difference that’s visible visible at a relatively small scale
It feels good.
By the way, there’s lots of work to be done on the forests (and other stuff) in Norther India, if anyone wants to help out.

Nice.
But don’t make the mistake to just map forests just because it is one of the pet landcovers that are shown earlier than the rest in OSM-Carto.

For sure. I’ve also been mapping
landuse=farmland
, but have only done a tiny bit in that particular valley. In many parts of HP and especially J&K there are plenty of paved roads not yet mapped, so I’m trying to prioritize.Naudotojo PlaneMad komentaras, parašytas 2017 m. lapkričio 13 d., 07:55
Nice work! Admittedly, many of those ugly large forests were traced by me using landsat over 6 years ago, nice to see many of them getting updated!

Thanks PlaneMad! It’s a meaningful complement coming from someone who’s done so much work in the area as you. dmgroom_ct has done way more work in the area (well… in Kashmir), than me, and I’m still focusing on the roads in J&K and HP, but it’s good to see the area coming along.

Hi Keithonearth, Are you still active doing edits for the Himalaya? We could start a small project if you are interested. Best, Aman

The Himalaya will always hold a special place in my heart. I am still mapping in the area. What project did you have in mind?
