Some new footpaths are being constructed in a few areas around Nenagh town - also I've noticed a few planning permission notices up. I really must check what they are about and if they might mean I've some updating to do.

Finally got around to adding/renaming the motor factors near the Abbey Court Hotel in Nenagh to the map. Well, it was certainly about time!

Slow day - some updates to Carlow and Roscrea
Vum kenguest matgedeelt de(n) 13. Januar 2010 op English. Not been feeling up to much today - added some detail in Carlow town and corrected some of the road layout towards the Benamore Business Estate to/from N7 bypass of Roscrea.
I've nothing to do with ibood.com except that I'm a happy customer of theirs after having bought a lenovo laptop off them a year or so ago.
Thought I'd mention, for one day only [as it always is with iBood], they are selling a i-gotU GT-120 USB GPS Receiver Travel Logger for 40 euro - details at http://www.ibood.com/ie/en/product_specs.php.
Pertinent Details are:
Built-in SiRF StarIII low-power chipset
Programmable log interval: 1 sec - 60 minutes
Average acquisition time for cold start: < 60 sec., warm start: < 38 sec.
it might be the one piece of hardware you need to kickstart a more active approach to do openstreetmap mapping ;-)
I've traced some estates in Nenagh which I tracked recently - scary to realise how many are incomplete.
I'll upload the actual .gpx some time soon - honest!
Some of you may be aware that I have recently moved home from Dublin to Nenagh in County Tipperary. I'm going to use my daily commute in to the Limerick office (until I get broadband at home at which stage I'll WFH most of the time) to map the various routes betwixt and between.
Today I did a quick map/data-gathering of Plassey Village opposite University Limerick - footpaths not included as I was in the car at the time.
