Potlatch Absturz, Argh!

Verdammt 1 1/2 Stunden Arbeit umsonst.

I'm puzzled - how did you get the whole screen to go faded like that?

As I clicked "Save" Potlatch2 crashed (or maybe it was a Flash Player crash, quite not sure)
All edits I made in 1,5 hours gone...

I'm also regularly getting this Potlatch2 lockup (grrrr!!) Sometimes I notice that clicking any node or way does not change their description bar at the left side (and then immediately press Save), but sometimes it is already late.

It happens at least on my each second edit (1-2 hours of work). And as I do not like to save "unfinished partial work"... On two different machines with Chrome browser.

OK, folks, I'm trying to insert a new ticket into OSM's trac describing one (of possibly more) reproducible way, how to get such faded-out screen, without getting our valuable edits saved ;-)

Please check Ticket #3836 fore more details. (I keep fingers crossed for desinsecting the bug(s) soon).

Thanks for your report! It's pretty detailed.
I had the same issue with the blocked sidebar. I noticed this bug several times before, but it never led to a crash. I always could manage to bring it back again.

I used Firefox 5.0 with Flash Player 10.3.181.26
Another thing I noticed: If the screen is faded out, you can still use functions like fullscreen (on pressing M). I clicked S quite a few time, trying to rescue my work, but the potlatch window turns completely grey!

I will try to make a Flash-Log to help developers locating this issue.

New version is now live. Please let us know (via trac ideally) if you can still reproduce the bug, and if so, how.

(and thanks for the helpful steps to reproduce already :) )

Glad to be able to help. At least that, what I've described, could not be reproduced again. (Some sort of missing null pointer check? (I'm just thinking loud.))
