Since there is no response I have reverted it in osm.org/changeset/150821257

Hi, thanks for contributing to bike lanes on OSM! I noticed that this change draws the Alemany Blvd bike lane as a separate way in OSM. Typically we would only add a separate way if the bike lane pavement is discontiguous. The wiki has some more details: osm.wiki/Key:cycleway#Cycle_tracks

If you agree, could you revert this change? Thanks! Kevin

Hi Ruben,

This wastewater clarifier is currently a very thin building=yes. I'm planning to make it natural=water + water=wastewater based on the guidance in: osm.wiki/Tag:water%3Dwastewater

Please let me know if you have any concerns.
Thanks!

Hi toojue,

Thanks for highlighting this dangerous intersection. There is a crosswalk here though, so pedestrian access is allowed. In OpenStreetMap, we need to tag the map based on the physical features of the world rather than adding our opinions to the map.

Thanks

Hi toojue,

Thanks for updating the access on Guadalupe Canyon Pkwy. I agree it's not suitable for pedestrians.

However, by adding access=no, this also disallows bicycles. I have changed this to foot=no, bicycle=yes.

Thanks
Kevin

Hi D3athRIot69,

Thanks for improving the map. I have changed the natural=grassland back to landuse=grass. natural=grassland is typically used in undeveloped areas. Here is a page with more details osm.wiki/Tag:natural=grassland?uselang=en

thanks
Kevin

Hi Ethan,

Welcome to OSM and thanks for updating these rail features! This is a large change that updated many features over a wide area. Would you mind splitting the changes into smaller ones in the future?

Thanks

Hi Gabriel,

welcome to OSM and thank you for drawing missing buildings. I saw that you changed this to landuse=residential instead of building=house. landuse=residential indicates an area that is a neighborhood. I have changed it back to building=house. please see this page for more info osm.wiki/Tag:landuse=residential?uselang=en

Thanks

Hi GelikaS,

welcome to OpenStreetMap and thanks for improving the tennis facility. Based on the aerial imagery, it seems like this is a building which contains a tennis court. In that case, building=yes, leisure=sports_hall is the proper way to tag them. I have updated the map. Please let me know if you have any concerns.

Thanks
Kevin

Hi Baconcrisp,

Do you know if the bus lanes in this change set are physically separated from the main road? If not, then I believe we should use the same ways as the main road.

Thanks

Hi Miguelao,

Thanks for improving Lake Chabot park. Since not the entire area of the park is a forest, I'm going to remove natural=wood. I would recommend drawing smaller areas for natural=wood around the areas with trees.

Sorry for the error. Thank you for fixing the road class.

Hi Abraham,

Welcome to OpenStreetMap! Thank you for improving the map and especially your focus on bike infrastructure, which is an area that is often incomplete.

In OSM, we usually map bike lanes by adding a cycleway=lane tag (or similar) to the road. We typically map the bike lane as a separate way only when it’s physically separated from the main road, eg by a curb or median. This page has some more details: osm.wiki/Bicycle

Since the Conzelman Road bike lane is on-road, could you remove the separately mapped bike lane and confirm that the tagging on the main road matches your expectations? Please let me know if you agree.

Thanks!
Kevin

Hey Warren,

Thanks for updating the tagging of this way so it won't be used as a pedestrian crossing.

I thought the following tags might more closely describe the feature and have made this change on the map. Could you let me know if you have any concerns?

cycleway=crossing
crossing=diagonal

Thanks
Kevin

Hi Aayudhi,

Thank you for contributing to OpenStreetMap, especially around improving highways and toll plazas.

I saw that you might be working for MapUp.ai. If that's the case, could you follow the Organized Editing Guidelines here? https://wiki.osmfoundation.org/wiki/Organised_Editing_Guidelines

In particular, ongoing organized activities should be listed on this page, which will inform others about the goals of your editing efforts and provide a point of contact. osm.wiki/Organised_Editing/Activities

Thank you,
Kevin
