Well, all the changes have finally trickled through and the route planner at cyclestreets.net will now offer up a "quietest" route from Witney to Eynsham along the A40 cycle path. Deep joy [starry eyed sigh]

What's not so lovely are the bridge sections of the path as it approaches the Wolvercote roundabout in North Oxford. I had a look around for examples of how cycleways over bridges have been drawn and tagged and decided the separate bridge approach just looked wrong so terminated the ways at the bridge nodes. Yuk! Now I see how that's been rendered I see why the Donnington Bridge in Oxford has a separate bridge for the cycleway. There could of course be other less aesthetic reasons I haven't come across yet, but I'm going to redo it for that reason alone for now.

I see there's a proposal to create a relation for ways sharing a bridge - so, my first delve into the "making stuff happen" area of OSM...
