New about JOSM "bug" - it is "silent" ban from OSM?

Uploading of 100 per session sounds good: less loosing on conflict and adequate controlling a result. Nice idea.

About limit for area of my interest (for now) - nope. About 2-3 sq. km have about the same number of "ways" (polygons/objects) as near 1000 sq. m @ normal town in Europe.

As for today, I just do everything in "wiki gnome" regime. And have no any target to use OSM by myself. Now. May be later.

It helps, tnx.

It seems, JOSM is not "stabile"

Many thanks, bri g

I changed my shortcut your's (with minor correction for my paths) amd... it work and redraw faster.
You see, I has no one issue later when this post published.

And am about signing agreement : JOSM is quit stable app.
What I miss really - customization of mouse's functions. In many (the best) graphic apps I use for many years there are conventional meaning of, for ex., pushing on right rodent's ear - contest, while moving a view is through left button, with modifier key (command/ctrl).
But it is mine, and it is not an issue.

Thank you.

dcp, I see it now. Am not sure about 2000 in single shape, but, may be, it was @ one moment while editing goes forward.

Your info about this lake is helpful: I will study this polygon and it's properties.

Thanks for all.
May be 2000 nodes is not critical amount itself, but when it is a job for cardinal changing of complex shapes, dividing, for ex., one 1000 ha forest to 6 smaller ones and changing tags from forest to vineyards, it not "ordinary" event.
"In a few minutes" you can paste shape, but do not draw a real, exact path: say, 10 minutes has 600 seconds, so you must to mark a position of 3.3 nodes per second? Precisely? Tell it to your grandma after midnight, as old soldiers says. Raw pasting of simple (may be big ones, of course) shape, without clear tagging only.

Server maintaining idea sounds good. But only for me? I saw editions from others and there was no any signs of "server down for maintenance" on OSM page. Huh.

If you saw my previous post, there was no any problem on upload (after complete fail of first attempt), but it was on download.

On short exam of event (system logs), there was no real "timeout" on server connection - server responded in 120 ms.

So, something was happened when I trying to upload while something in objects I edited has been changed by someone: bug is in synchronizing at the upload time, which, late, cause something equivalent to ban.

BTW - it is not kind of arrogance from me. It is just ratiocinating.

OK, I will report @ place you show me too. Before, I pushed "report bug" button every time it appear in program window. :)

bastik,

I really appreciate any help, but did not "professional support".
I am pushed to drop JOSM, because problem persists: OMS API rejecting any calls from my JOSM.

It seems, JOSM is not "stabile"

Done, already done. Many times reported. Even I had opinion, what JOSM support takes "counterbugreporting" block on me :)

Sorry, but answer is no: ";" symbol is only there, not in JOSM. And setting to default URL did not help also.
For the first time I use JOSM as stand-alone. It works just fine for 5-6 hours. And goes to bugs.

JOSM server is not down. Going to "old data layer - forest only" downloads everything, but yes, old (about month-two ago), and forest only.
Evem more: I does an experiment. While changing editing to "remote", through call from OSM main page - I get a download of entire area.
But, after what - exactly the same. Did not any response my actions, even "update data" (from server) goes to message, shown in my first post.

marscot, I'll use it too. from now! :)

OK, PierenBot and dcp: I go into reading, thoroughly.

dcp, you can be sure: I am very accurate there, not only because of the reason I am new on OSM, but also because vector-based graphic editing is my specialty for many years. All tags and routes double checked and do not hesitate to go to specific point to check situation directly.

Thank you. Your help is very appreciated.

Thank you, Andrew and alv. "Deeper in the forest, - more questions" :) It seems I began to catch OSM rules and get a way to find something I need in it's wiki.
Happy tagging!

Nice. Thank you for all of you, who helped.
Next time I will ask @ forum instead.

Sorry for my English: I mean the name of genus, like "oak", "pine", "ficus", which is major in a forest I mark on a map.

To any, who knows: how often OSM Inspector does a pass for re-check?

Oh. Thank for pointing me to status bar :)
Now, I can see all info.

Is there a someone, who use "/" shortcut in v 2.0?

Sentence "I'll hesitate to call a support from you and community"
Must to be "I WILL NOT hesitate to call a support from you and community"

Sorry :)

Is there a someone, who use "/" shortcut in v 2.0?

thank you, dcp

Your link and experienced help is very useful for me, a new-bee @ OSM. I book marked your links. It seems, it is extremely useful info there: now I see where I must go fist, because I knew those paths in real, many of them I just see from my window - I live on a hill.

Thank you once more, I'll hesitate to call a support from you and community.

Is there a someone, who use "/" shortcut in v 2.0?

Thank you, Stephan

Yes, I use Pottatch 2. And yes, accessing underneath layers is problem there, sometimes. I'll read OSM wiki and try programs (scripts) you point.
Yes see, as man, who use for 20 years CorelDraw, Adobe Illustrator and (for less years) - Freehand, I knew polygon editing well and have my own way to do it. But those methods are complicated:
select a contour, add two points around problematic one, separate (break) those points from "mother-line", delete resulting shortcut between added points; then you can select underneath polygon, create "parallel", separate this parallel from origin and delete original underneath; while Pottatch 2 hasn't tool for polygon/line expanding/contracting, you will need to correct a path of a resulting line accordingly.
Those operations are not simple and wondering way to do a job. So, thank you once more for pointing me another tools.

And yes, I'll call you for help with permalink, if I'll not found the way to access something. As for now there no any of them in region I am trying to correct, all problems solved by method I describe above.
But I'll go forward, and shit will happen :)
