The Cayman Islands are still broken, one week later.

Here's the current Mapnik render (look ma, no visible coastlines):
osm.org/?lat=19.258&lon=-81.264&zoom=11&layers=B00FTF

and the Osmarender (look ma, incorrect way directions):
osm.org/?lat=19.308&lon=-81.2&zoom=11&layers=0B0FTF

Osmarender looked fine last week (I think), but Mapnik render was still the same.
(previous diary entry, osm.org/user/lwu/diary/2810)

shadowjack merged the lines last week, apparently.

Loaded up Cayman Island in JOSM, but the Way seems properly counter-clock. It might just be a rendering issue? Osmarender doesn't get the land/water division right in some cases.

check in JOSM (with middle mousebutton) wether there is only one coastline. check further that the coastline ways are all facing counter-clockwise around land (so that water is to the right side of the way) and then check the way is indeed closed.

I just checked the coastline and found it ran CW around the island, basically marking it as water in water.
I reversed it, and it should start to show up in osmarender soon-ish.

Now everything should be ok. I fixed final errors (there was leftover segment(two nodes) and Sand Cay was not closed).

The coastline need not be a single closed way, as long as the parts of the coastline have no gaps (ie. the end node is the start node of the next way) and do not branch, and keep to the water-right-hand-rule.

I agree, it need not be closed. But sequence of ways must form closed shape. Sand Cay consisted of one (unclosed) way. It's error. After it was fixed, osmarender rendered tile fine.

I suppose it'd be nice if the error showed up in the Coastline Checker, but when I tried it last, no such luck. I suppose the Checker works for many other cases though.
