I have just an idea popping up that I want to share. In the city I live, there is a yearly big event. I think OSM is particulary suited to let the organisers display the map of the event (walking paths, small shops, parking) on OSM.

This would enable them to communicate effectively, to the partners, and to the general public using OSM.
