It seems highly unlikely but as I was remote mapping I followed convention and left previous data intact. There may be local use to this which I'm unaware of though. Feel free to contact the user who entered this initially.

I believe the paths are only default accessible to cycling, as they are path=yes. They do not have the tag, bicycle=yes, or any other mode of transport.

I do however take exception to your tone, and demand that I do mapping to fulfill your wants. Please feel free to make edits to the map, it is open source. And finally, yes, if you had looked, there are dozens of GPS tracks of mine within the perimeter of the memorial Park.

Matthew

Hi Matthew,

Thanks for the information provided.
The link I provided in my previous email will enable you to check road names and park names by viewing that mapping service.

The pricing schedule will depend on a review currently being undertaken an incorporated the various policies such as Open Data and competitive neutrality.

To consider giving you access to the WMS service we need you full contact details including address, phone number etc.

Regards

Peter Debicki

hi,

Thanks for you reply.

I'd like to get a username thanks.

I am a volunteer with OSM and have used the WMS to find and correct street and park names mostly. Is there going to be any community consultation on the service fee structure, or is it being decided purely by the department/minister?

Matthew

Hi Matthew,

Thank you for your enquiry.

Vicmap API maps are viewable via Mapshare - http://mapshare.maps.vic.gov.au/MapShareVic/index.html?viewer=MapShareVic.PublicSite&locale=en-AU

All our tile service users need to be registered in the new tile service. As we didn't know you were a user we could not send you any information regarding its migration.

If you wish to use the WMS / WMTS service you need to request that in writing by responding to this email.

Please outline your case and specify weather you are an OSM employee or a volunteer and how you wish to utilize the tile service.

We care currently reviewing our service fee structure and policy and will inform all users and interested parties later this year.

hi,
I have been using the API until recently as a contributor to OSM, but the WMS is now unavailable. Is this service still there for community and not-for-profit use; and if so how do I access it?

Regards,

Matthew

That person was me. OSM should reflect "on the ground truth". At the moment you can cycle along John Street, but not drive. Driving directions would be wrong without a cycle barrier there, but cycle directions correct, as it would route a bike through a cycle barrier. That's the point of cycle barrier nodes. Being able to change the map for relatively short periods weeks/months is also one of the benefits of OSM.

Please revert.

sorry, totally a mistake when I was looking at how to create 2 level buildings. I didn't see your message.

Hi, I just checked out your work and it's quite amazing frankly. If you want to make it even better, you can use the property borders- same as google has on their map, but you need to add another imagery layer to JOSM to do it. Its from government maps which are fine to use on OSM. Happy to help if you're interested. Good luck!

Seems reasonable. Looks like every other runway I've seem mapped.

Nice job. You could add the tag amenity = kindergarten to make it clear what it is... With this tag it will show up for searches of kinders and so on.

I hadn't heard of Gracemere until this week. Glad you're still around to tag! Good luck.

all good.

hi, you should tag the node (dot on the map that you changed) with something appropriate. amenity=townhall is an option, or office=government. name=Snowy Valley Council HQ or whatever it's called will give it a label on the map. Cheers!

All seems fine! Good job. Thanks.

You can add new shops, facilities etc as well, from your phone even with apps.

what are the alpine huts in this changeset? They aren't alpine huts, that's almost certain.

60365269 about 7 years ago

It looks fine- a useful thing to add to edits is source, for example, source=survey if you read a sign at the beginning of the track that had it's name on it. source=local_knowledge if you've just always known, or that's just what it's called.

Looks good. Mapping like kings too it seems.

You added a "turning circle" not a roundabout, they are different, even if they sound similar!
osm.wiki/Tag:highway%3Dturning_circle

Adding roundabouts is a little bit complicated as you have to split all the pieces of road from each other, create a circle (tag that as the highest standard of road that passes through the roundabout) and then connect the streets onto the circle... Phew!
Have a look what I did at the barney/butler junction to see what I mean.

Good luck....

The helipad does appear to be in the right place according to the imagery- as you probably discovered it was built in 2015. The rest of the buildings in the carpark I'm not sure about... When the vicmap API is restored for OSM I'll come back and have a look.

I accept they are not actively under construction! Is that what the tag is meant to mean? It's quite possible they will never be finished.
The streets directly to the north which have more houses on them appear paved with kerbs to me. Also one lane of the dual carriageway is not continuous around the corner, suggesting it is unfinished.

I'm not massively invested in the concept though, and have absolutely zero local knowledge. Feel free to change them if you are sure.
