Thanks to the fantastic NearMap PhotoMaps which OpenStreetMap has been given for Australian mappers to use, I and others are now able to add so much more to the Australian database. For a little fun, I thought I would map in as much detail as realistically possible, a McDonald's in my home city, as well as the roads and footpaths surrounding it. I wonder if there is any other fast food outlet that is as well mapped as this in the entire world!?

Well one week ago I read an article in a GIS magazine that Mc Donalds cooperate with Navteq to add all restaurants to their map. Would be nice if we would have imports of Burgerking or Subway xD

Nice map but I would not spend too much time in fast food restaurant mapping rather highlight your regional food.

that nearmap imagery is certainly impressive, hopefully we get some imagery in Bendigo which would really kick things along on the mapping front!

How did you get such a zoomed-in image? It seems to be higher than zoom 18.

I think I'll do a bit of tracing using this imagery - it looks very impressive.
Seav, I'm not sure which image you are talking about, but if it's the first one on the nearmap wiki page, I think it's from JOSM.

By the way, the coordinates in your link are wrong!

davespod, I checked the co-ords, they are correct, you just have to zoom in all the way while staying centered.
Seav, I just used the export feature of the main map page (the export tab at the top) and exported the data into an image at a 1:1000 scale, much higher than the zoom 18 scale which I think is 1:1693.
