Hospitals in Bosnia
Zapsal michalfabik 12. 2. 2018 v jazyce English. Naposledy aktualizováno 13. 2. 2018The other day I noticed that there’s an absurdly large number of hospitals mapped in certain countries, including doctors’ offices, clinics, dentists’ offices, nursing homes, research institutes, pharmacies, even vets’ offices. Over the course of several days, I cleaned up Bosnia, leaving only true hospitals (i.e. provides inpatient care, consists of several specialized clinics, usually has the word “hospital” in the official name), and retagged everything else as appropriate. Here’s an image of hospitals in the former Yugoslavia with Bosnia cleaned up and the rest left untouched:

Yes, great job. This is indeed a common problem all over Europe, the inappropriate use of hospital tags.
I would also recommend to only use “amenity=hospital” for the entire hospital grounds, as per Wiki. Quite often, people tag “amenity=hospital” on individual buildings, which are more appropriately tagged “building=clinic” or “building=hospital”.
Lastly, I would also strongly recommend to always add “emergency=yes/no” depending on whether there is an emergency room and thus can deal with emergencies. This is an important distinction between hospitals or different locations of it.
