Cycle paths

نُشِر بواسطة mikedufty في 9 ديسمبر 2012 باللغة English

Just revisited my commute and there are a few changes for the worse. The main cycle path was not connecting at the end of Aberdeen St The bridge over the railway at Perth Arena had gone missing. The underpass at Gt Eastern Hwy/Riversdale Rd had gone missing. A part of Acton Ave I ride down every day was shown as missing.

Not sure what has been going on. One was shown as a licence redaction entry, some seem to have been “corrected” with the air photo, which doesn’t show underpasses etc.

It probably is due to the licence change. OpenStreetMap has now changed the licence from CC-BY-SA to ODbL. So it was necessary to ask all contributors whether they agreed, and remove their edits if they didn’t agree.

See http://www.osmfoundation.org/wiki/License/We_Are_Changing_The_License

and http://blog.osmfoundation.org/2012/07/26/automated-redactions-complete/

In much of the world, this didn’t affect the map much, as most people agreed to the licence change, or things from non-agreeing contributors were replaced before the change. But some areas were affected more, including parts of Australia.

If the map is now incomplete or incorrect, please do help to fix it. ie by surveying or using local knowledge or aerial photos to edit the map.

Yes, one change was marked as a redaction, the others are not though. I’ve fixed them up for now, just wondering if there are tools to do a better job of monitoring them, particularly those that seem to have been reverted to the air photo. I think I probably haven’t tagged the source of my edits properly, but not sure if that makes a difference as it can be hard to see the source in potlatch anyway.
