I'd like to highlight streetart. Does anybody know a renderer or osm service that shows public art work e.g. tagged with tourism=artwork? Or how could that be tagged to make it visible in osm? Is there any discussion about it?

tourism=artwork is in the potlatch editor but not rendered on the mapnik map. you could tag artwork tourism=attraction. but probably best to ask to get it rendered on the main mapnik map. or make your own map. for a basic static map to print for instance try maperitive software. you can customize the map to your liking. Not sure the best place to ask for changes to the mapnik map. hopefully someone else can help.

If you want a change to Mapnik (or Osmarender or OpenCycleMap), you can add a ticket on Trac: http://trac.openstreetmap.org/
Though it won't necessarily be added - Mapnik is supposed to be a nice looking map, not just a map that shows everything. Is tourism=artwork shown on Osmarender? It usually shows more features than Mapnik.
If you want to make your own map of artwork, you could use overlays. Ie use OpenLayers to show POI on top of a standard OSM map. This would probably be easier than rendering your own map. Plus it means you can click the icons for more info.

@hawkeye As I have not the skills and time to look deeper into a software I tried the tourism tag option you mentioned and it´s ok for me. see

@vclaw for the overlays one should probably have a website stored on a server and be the admin to upload add-ons etc. beside the content. in my case I only use a simple weblog.
