I use a dedicated data logging device (Columbus) and a Motorola smartphone with the “OSMAnd+ app” to create GPX traces, and then use JOSM to edit the map.
I enjoy the adventure of scouting out new places in my neighborhood. As a free software supporter, I am glad to know the results of my efforts will be available - to myself and others - without restrictions far into the future.
Interested in talking with other locals to better understand the state of the map or to help a newbie. I look attending some future OSM club meetup. I would love to find out how to get a career in Geographic Information Systems. Sent me a note if you would talk about any of these topics.
