I’m seeing this all the time now when trying to use iD on my Mac!
What’s up? There’s a recent bug that seems related. If you’re experiencing the same thing, see if you can weigh in there.
It looks like there’s a more recent version of iD up here, give it a try if you get crashes as well.

I have had the same problem with Chrome and Windows 7. Using Firefox now seams to work OK with ID.

It seems to have been fixed in the source, not sure if it has gone live yet. Should be soon anyway!

i have the same problem. and many others, when iD can start. It’s pretty bugged.

To confirm, the fix went live on OpenStreetMap late Friday: http://git.openstreetmap.org/rails.git/commit/3f6d40c092706f87e3161c93c5e370c5b937ae47
