How to use Every Door | sorry for the dupe. browser and me acting weird at the same time? |

How to use Every Door | I’ve started to use Every Door a little bit and like it a lot. Ilya is right, it takes bit of getting used to. But I don’t see another way currently existing that can do more to ensure we’re going to 1) get all the POI in OSM and 2) important! keep them updated. About “later never happens”, I think you’re generally right, if you’re just speaking for yourself. For MapRoulette I have the idea to connect the “now” of mappers out on the streets with the “later” of armchair mappers. That can be a different person. The mapper on the street would, for example, take a picture. And the mapper at their desk, using MapRoulette, could add the information from the photo to OSM in turn. I’m not sure about this feature yet but would like to get some opinions on why it would (not) work. |

DYI Vintage Tile Server | Huh, the embedded mov doesn’t show up for me (it did in preview mode!) but you can see it here. Also I should give a shout out to the OSM tile server docker project that does the heavy lifting! |

Happy ODbL Planet Anniversary! | Thanks for reminding me to write up a diary for my docker-based approach. Just did that! |

Happy ODbL Planet Anniversary! | Oh, great to know about the 2008 one too. Since I just took my 2008 “OSM then and now” service offline I can point people to this! |

Happy ODbL Planet Anniversary! | Happy ODbLiversary! Did you happen to use OSM Vintage Tile Server to generate the 2012 tiles? I am just curious if people find it useful :) Great to see this. |

Adding buildings with RapiD - what to do with existing address nodes? | n76 - nice to see these two data sources come together then! I am learning new things too here: I didn’t know about the update geometry operation. I usually do Cmd-c and then Cmd-Shift-v (probably Shift instead of Cmd on Win / Linux) to copy and paste tags onto a different geometry. |

Adding buildings with RapiD - what to do with existing address nodes? | Now the comments here about leaving the node and way separate makes me wonder if the challenge would need to be revised / reconsidered? Does it need to be more specific in saying that you can also leave the address node but just remove the |

Adding buildings with RapiD - what to do with existing address nodes? | I didn’t know about the combine operation! That is super handy! I had used the textbox trick before, and in fact that was how I was copying the tags over. I like the MapRoulette challenge also as a way to locate areas where RapiD has a lot of buildings that can still be added! |

Adding Microsoft Building Footprints To OSM With MapRoulette: Why And How | Hmm perhaps we can have a look together. If you’re on Slack send me a message there or right here on OSM is also great. |
