This something which we have been talking for years ;). Feels so happy that it is ready now.
Maps can be displayed in Wikipedia from OSM relation. Just done it for NH1
Wikipedia —> Wikidata —> OSM
How often OSM updates Wikidata id with Wikipedia tag ?

In OSM, everything is made by simple people. If someone wants to add/update wikipedia/wikidata tag, one does that. So, there is no update period or something. If you are aware of missing information, you can add it by yourself - there is no need to wait for somebody to do that.

@naveenpf That’s a change in the editor so whenever someone adds a Wikipedia tag in the editor, the Wikidata id is retrieved and added as well. This means that no wikidata tag will be added when the user does not add a wikipedia tag in the first place. I assume the wikidata tag is not updated in any other way (unless someone adds it manually).
The data will then only be changed in the OSM database when the user uploads the data. No automatic update of data in OSM database.
In the UK there has been an project to match OSM objects with wikidata and update them. Search the talk-gb mailing list archives in case you are interested.
For the rest: it’s up to the mappers to add this data, just like BushmanK wrote.

@escada Note that JOSM’s Wikipedia plugin allows to directly query wikidata for an area. For me this has been quite convenient in that it has helped me discover foreign (mainly german & english) wikipedia articles for features in Denmark. This also means that I have added quite a few wikidata tags with no corresponding wikipedia tag (as i feel it’s too silly to add foreign language wikipedia links to danish features) Note that there’s also many wikidata items (with coordinates) with no wikipedia counterpart.

Just to make sure: the JOSM Wikipedia plugin helps a human to add the tags, but the human is still required. There is no automated process to update any OSM tag based on Wikipedia/Wikidata.
