Golden Canyon Road - and Tiger 2007

Sett inn af nm7s9 25. október 2008 á English.

I've had problem sending to talk-us so I'll try to put the info here.

Again, let's calm down a little bit. Were you around for the last
import? Did you see how I handled data conflicts in that one? Was
there a problem there that needs fixing this time around?"

Yes I think there were problems. There have been some diary entries bemoaning the fact that their edits had been blown away by the Tiger data upload.

Black Allan Line

Sett inn af nm7s9 29. apríl 2008 á English.

I have just visited (and tagged) 6 points on the Black Allan line (The straight bit of the NSW Victoria border in Australia). By joining the dots up we now have a better approximation of a segment of a great circle that this border is supposed to be.

It also means that a bridge near Delegate (on Bonang Road) returns to its rightful place in NSW.

I hope that some intrepid OSM'ers will treck to the two endpoints of this line, since the current OSM co-ordinates seem to be about 200 metres SSW of the co-ordinates given by GeoScience Australia and Google Maps/Earth.

PS I then mapped the Bonang Road down to Orbost and I think that this may the twistyest road (of serious length) in Australia, maybe the world. You drive for weel over an hour and you are almost always turning the steering wheel.

Map verification

Sett inn af nm7s9 6. nóvember 2007 á English.

After having horror times in Monterey, California and Las Vegas due to the Teleatlas maps having so many errors regarding turn restrictions, I have concluded that each road needs to be driven three times.

Once by the mapper, to position it properky and name it correctly, and twice by independant verifiers.

Therefore in Canberra (Australia), when I see that a suburb looks complete, as far as road placement and naming is concerned, I will also drive it to check for possible mistakes or missing turn restrictions.

I've just made a couple of "improvments" to Hackett. I hope the mapper of this suburb is not offended. I've really got a bee in my bonnet about one way streets that are not marked as such. Even the Sensis maps of Australia are woeful in this respect.

I really hope that someone will check the areas that I have mapped. I would love for them to be error free.
