Here’s how to check cycling mapping mistakes and fixme’s in your area:

1. Go to Bicycle tags map
2. From upper left corner, select “bugs in tags”
3. Zoom into area of interest
4. From menu on the right you can select/deselect features to show

This way I could see a few fixme’s in my area, plan a route with OsmAnd application, observe and make necessary updates to the map in Oulu area.

And on my way yesterday I was able to visit the new separated cycleway opened the same day. Really liked to ride it. Have a look from our Baana Engineer’s twitter video.

I was crazy enough to install Nokia Java Runtime 2.0 for S60 from Nokia Beta labs. Then I tried to install JOSM Java OSM editor (josm-tested.jar which I renamed josm-2255.jar). When trying to install the .jar file on the phone i got an error "compulsory attribute 'MIDlet Name' missing".

What's the problem here with Osmarender colors?

I have added some paths and now Osmarender renders area with strange colors between the ends of the paths. The area should be (is) forest but still between the endpoints of the paths and around the area is rendered light blue.

Reittiä itseään ei ole merkitty jalankulkureitiksi, mutta tagin access:designated käyttämiseksi ohjeen mukaan vaaditaan "This tag indicates that a route has been specially designated (typically by a government) for use by a particular mode (or modes) of transport.". Eli jotta kulkumuoto olisi "designated" ei vaadita välttämättä merkintää itse reitin varrelle.

Ulkoilulain 10 § mukaan kunta voi antaa määräyksiä ja ohjeita ulkoilureitin käyttämisestä.

Oulun kaupunki on antanut ainakin ohjeen , josta käy ilmi, että ensisijainen liikuntamuoto on kävely/juoksu ja on annettu myös lupa liikkua polkupyörällä. Täytyy myöntää, että Oulun kaupungin ohjeessa sitä ei ole kovin selkeästi ilmaistu kuitenkaan. Voisi hyvinkin käyttää myös bicycle:designated -merkintää. Eihän kävellenkään saa kulkea muita häiritsevästi...

Näille löytyy selityksensä wikistä. Murtomaahiihto voidaan ilmaista tarkenteella nordic (tosin nordic-lajeihin kuuluu myös mäkihyppy, mutta tarkempaakaan ilmaisua ei ole tarjolla). Hiihtohan on myös urheilu, joten sitäkin kannattaa mainostaa.
