Greetings, and thanks for checking out my profile!

If you’re new to mapping, don’t forget to check out the resources available on the Wiki or check out the beginners guide at LearnOSM.org

I am a veteran mapper from the old Google Mapmaker / RER program, where my responsibilities were coaching and helping other contributors provide good information to the program, as well as directly editing the map myself. After the Mapmaker platform shut down in 2017, they removed many of the power features that the old program allowed. Seeing better potential in OpenStreetMap, I moved my mapping interests over here, and enjoy helping others learn to map, as well as provide good data about my local community.

Active Projects

Colorado Address Mapping and Validation

The State of Colorado provides public domain open source address data of every building in the state. I have transformed this massive data set into county-level OSM compatible reference files that could be used by other mappers who want to add address data for their region or project. If you’re interested, send me a message. I am not performing an import at this time, because I believe mass imports are prone to errors and I don’t have the bandwidth to handle that task. I think a human should verify all edits for accuracy and database integrity.

I use this data in my own mapping as a resource. I’m often performing validation fixes to the nearby regions, to ensure other mappers have entered high quality data. While I’m there, I will add local address data when possible to improve small regional areas while I do validation fixes in our neighborhoods. None of my edits are mechanical, every object I edit is manually verified for accuracy.

Pedestrian Network Upgrades

Having a detailed network of sidewalks, pedestrian crossings, kerb data, and intersections helps access-limited persons navigate our world safer. I often add detailed pedestrian network information to my local area.
