Cutting (or mapping) illegal trails on public land doesn't magically give you authority over them. As you likely know, these trails were cut without authorization by Meck County or Town of Davidson. Making these trails hiking only prevents people with walking disabilities from enjoying them. This is why, on July 22, 2024, directors from the Mecklenburg County Parks & Rec and Town of Davidson acknowledged to meeting of trail users that the trails will always be multi-use.

These trails have been designated by Meck Parks & Rec as multi-use (hiking and cycling).
