Great that you are using that kind of data! It is also useful to look at the global strava heatmap to find what locations are missing mapped ways compared to where people actually run or ride.

@augxcgrwxo yes, big fan of the heat map. Great for navigating new areas too. Would be nice to be able to use that to trace that instead, since its effectively an average of all the riders on that trail, rather than a single sensor.

There’s a browser extension that allows to add the heat map as a data layer https://github.com/emersonveenstra/rapid-power-user-extension hope this helps

Excellent. I haven’t used Rapid. I’ll try it out, or the original which appears to only overlay the heatmap https://github.com/cmoffroad/id-strava-heatmap-extension

I’m using https://github.com/zekefarwell/josm-strava-heatmap for getting the Strava Heatmap into JOSM (or any other editor supporting TMS imagery). Works nicely with a free Strava account, but needs a refresh about every two weeks.

Is there any way to have access to the high definition Strava heatmap without an account?
Comentari de habi lo 1 de setembre 2024 a 16:44
@Romainbou: not that I know of, but the account is free, can be pseudonymous and not used.
