Old Style, For Real | I am guessing it is mostly me not being familiar with a tool just yet. Didn't really expect to get perfect results at the first try (My first GPS trace was completely useless). Regarding the reference point: Even if it is extremely off, the shape of the piazza should be roughly right, anyhow. Which it wasn't. I think that it was mostly a matter of small errors adding up. Will try again as soon as I have time. |

Micro-diary-ing | I am not going to argue ;) |

Micro-diary-ing | The two or three spots at the border I was at suggest that the ISTAT data is more precise. It was imported a while back, then removed and now was imported again. That's actually why I was asking. If it is not going to stay, I don't bother to edit anything. But if it is, I may given some spare time. |

Bus Stop Madrid City | It does, albeit only in zoom levels 17 and 18: osm.org/?lat=46.00738&lon=8.95153&zoom=17&layers=B000FTF |

Low Battery | It's not really cold around here yet. I am quite okay with the lifetime of the N800's battery -- around three to four hours mapping. You just need to remember to charge it before heading out. The annoying thing is that with the OS2008, the battery indicator remains at full and the plummets to almost empty within the blink of an eye. |

highway=pedestrian vs. highway=path .. sidewalks vs. paved pedestrian paths | My little rule is to use "pedestrian" for streets that cars could use but are not allowed to and "footpath" for streets if they are too small or otherwise not passable by car. There obviously is a gray area ... |

Ortsplan mit Straßenverzeichnis | Vielleicht ist beim Rendern was schief gegangen. Ich habe die Kacheln mal zum neu rendern angemeldet. |
