Your rules in the Park may not be negotiable, but the rules here on Openstreetmap are not the same as those in the Park. Many of the tracks you've deleted have not been barriered or disassembled as you claim and clearly still exist on the ground. This is why people keep re-adding them to the map as OSM's good practice guideline is to "map what's on the ground".

As Rafael recommended, it would be more constructive for your to engage in discussion with the mapping community rather than continue your current approach.

I assume the trail has been forcibly closed/destroyed prior to removal from the map?

Having a closer look at the excess data, that was all there before I modified the way as far as I recall. All I did was re-align it to be closer to reality based on multiple GPS tracks taken.

Apologies, I didn't see the first comment. This edit was four years ago and I don't remember a lot about it. If there is excess data then yes, it can almost certainly be deleted. I'll clean up the road_name value now.

I also need to re-survey this as the top two sections have apparently been re-created, despite closure by Parks. OSM should reflect what's on the ground.

Hey Yarilla. :) Where did the name "Cascade Track" come from? I can't see that on the Parks map. There's also a "Cascade Track" in the Silvan area of the park and it's unusual for Parks to re-use names.
The previous name "The Freeway" was just a colloquial name the local trail runner community used - so the "most commonly used name" I could find but certainly not an official one.

So was it the southern section from Syphon to the Pylon that was indistinct or the northern section from the pylon to Ridge that was indistinct?

Sorry, now I see it. Yes, it wouldn't surprise me if the final southern part down to Syphon is overgrown. It was quite distinct until the final descent to Syphon where it became quite indistinct. If you couldn't see it I'd suggest pruning it back to finish further north just as it passes near the pylon (that's where it became indistinct if I recall correctly).

Hey Ewen. I've just moved Hillclimb back to the east side of Sherbrooke Creek as it doesn't cross over to the west. The Strava heatmaps aren't very useful in this valley as GPS reception is always bad and there's a path on both sides and the heatmap isn't accurate enough to allow differentiation between the two.

Hey Tony. Thanks for the feedback and link to the in-depth discussion. I'll go through and change access=no for all the illegal tracks I've recently added. Your right, Parks have clearly sign-posted (although they tend not to last for long) a number of these tracks as illegal and have general information on track access in a number of places.

It's difficult to spot from the road due to the sharp drop-off, but the track is definitely there and clear to see.
