Hello there

Posted by randynose on 21 July 2019 in English.

So, I’ve not really gotten into Open Street Maps, but figured that I might delve into it a bit, as I’m not liking Google as much these days. - I use an Android phone, so any hints or tips would be welcomed. - I can be found on Mastodon as @randynose@fosstodon.org or on Twitter (not checked as often) as @RandyNose.

Hi RandyNose, and welcome to the OSM community. Some resources I use: * JOSM is a great editor once you get the hang of it. * Vespucci is an editor for Android devices so you can make edits when you’re out and about. * [Mapbox Studio] is a Freemium tool that lets you easily craft sleek maps based on OSM

Hope this helps, and keep delving!

Thanks. I’m picking away at things as time permits.

OSMAND is an offline nav app that uses OSM data also allows editing. Turn on OSM live so you have up to date data.
