Is it really Meadowview Road rather than Meadow View Road? If so, I'll add a not:name= tag to make sure nobody comes along to try and change it to match the OS Locator entry (https://ris.dev.openstreetmap.org/oslmusicalchairs/map?osl_id=921537)

Sorry I've had to revert this in my changeset osm.org/changeset/67744561

So, the problem here is that you've based your changes on Bing imagery that's from 2011 when there was a large industrial building here. It is now housing estate. You've removed at least one feature ("Fairlane Drive" https://ris.dev.openstreetmap.org/oslmusicalchairs/map?osl_id=1001950) which doesn't appear in the 2011 imagery but was added by mappers more local to the area. Did you not think it strange that someone had added a small park and playground that didn't appear to have any correspondence to the imagery you were looking at?

Did you mean to remove the name from Manor Road (osm.org/way/171367033/history#2)? It broke a match against OS Locator https://ris.dev.openstreetmap.org/oslmusicalchairs/map?osl_id=481742

You also managed to change this road's name to "w", breaking a match against OS Locator (https://ris.dev.openstreetmap.org/oslmusicalchairs/map?osl_id=904700). Be careful!

Cool - I'll add a not:name= tag to it to try and prevent anyone renaming it back to what OS Locator suggests (https://ris.dev.openstreetmap.org/oslmusicalchairs/map?osl_id=989739) which is clearly wrong in this case.

Creet's Hill? Greet's Hill? Either way, something here deserves a not:name or an alt_name

(from osborne avenue, that is)

Careful - when you did this you removed the highway=residential tag, which is how OSM identifies what this feature actually is. Fixed in my changeset osm.org/changeset/66660517

If you're sure, I'll add a not:name= tag so this doesn't get flagged up as a mismatch: https://ris.dev.openstreetmap.org/oslmusicalchairs/map?osl_id=749429

Think you managed to remove the name "Peacehaven" in this edit, breaking a match: https://ris.dev.openstreetmap.org/oslmusicalchairs/map?osl_id=579509

Deliberate?

I suspect you managed to remove the whole of Alma Terrace in this edit, breaking the OS Locator match: https://ris.dev.openstreetmap.org/oslmusicalchairs/map?osl_id=847382

Ok, but you seem to have renamed them both to Dorrington Way, which why it's showing up as broken in the aforementioned link.

Hi, did you mean to remove the name "Deveraux Close" in this edit? It broke a match against OS Locator: https://ris.dev.openstreetmap.org/oslmusicalchairs/map?osl_id=234567

64228642 over 6 years ago

Whether to show it or not is the render's decision. I've seen plenty of people refer to MK roads as just their name, "Grafton Street" etc.

64228642 over 6 years ago

Please do not move road ref=s to within the road name. Allow the renderer to make a decision about this. Someone's going to have to come and undo all of this now.

Heh. Should possibly put a warning filter on the HOT task manager for sensitive words. This task will have resulted in thousands of edits with this tag. Though then again this was 2 years ago so maybe they've got better at this now.

Did you mean to remove the name "Hollis Court" in this edit? It's broken a match against the Ordnance Survey Locator dataset: https://ris.dev.openstreetmap.org/oslmusicalchairs/map?osl_id=384080

BTW - there's a specific tag for postcode (addr:postcode), and there's also a tag (not:name) that can be used to mark a road as specifically _not_ a name (in case someone tries to "fix" it back to match some other dataset. I've made these changes in osm.org/changeset/63491136
