New Offline Render

Skrevet af schu-r den 13 november 2013 på English

Hi to all!

I’m just working on a new Offline Renderer Programm. It converts OSM data into Inkscape SVG Files. The Styles are written in Javascript and it is fully customizeable. By now nearly everything works. But my Graphics look awful.

Ist there anyone out there who is willing to help me and draw a completly new Set of Symbols and Patterns. It has to be all in SVG (Inkscape preferred).

Once the Programm has a good working state it will be release for all as Open Source. It is written in Java so it will run on every OS that java runs on. The output is an multilayer Inkscape SVG File where the Stylesheet defines which Element is on which Layer.

So if anyone is willing to help me, just contact me.

I hav no public repository by now. I dont want a half finished Programm where the Code is ‘in the flow’ and constantly changing for all to view. I’ll get a bunch of errors back that im currently working on. I can give you an example Output of may prog http://home.it-open.at/Web/blindenmarkt.svg.zip. Unzip and open in Inkscape.

Sorry, no knowledge at all, but just wanted to say that it sounds great and that I am really excited to see what it is capable of! Keep up the good work and thanks for that!

Have you googled around a bit? I was searching for such symbols some time ago, and found several sets in public domain or under a CC0-licence. Anyway, the result seems promising. Any idea on the amount of osm data it will be able to digest in one batch?
