tagging a green roof?

Plasing deur scruss op 1 Junie 2013 in English.

I just mapped Warden Hilltop Community Centre. It has a “green roof” — part of the roof has growing turf, and a trail through it (which would explain how I managed to put a gps trail through the building ☺). How would I tag it?

Green roofs are kind of a thing (and not just ‘cos I briefly worked for Green Roofs for Healthy Cities). I can think of some:

Ligging: Clairlea-Birchmount, Scarborough Southwest, Scarborough, Toronto, Golden Horseshoe, Ontario, Canada

The [Simple 3D Buildings[(osm.wiki/Simple_3D_Buildings) page has all the information on detailed mapping of buildings. roof:colour=* is what you are looking for.

It’s not the colour, Dr K; it’s the fact it’s growing — so in your part of the world, it would be like having a xeriscaped roof.

How about roof:material=grass?

Green roofs often have a wide range of different plants depending on a whole host of factors. Relatively few will be seeded with grass.

More often they will have relatively drought tolerant plants, certainly local ones have lots of sedums, and a range of Carophyllaceae (Dianthus, Petrorhagia and others).

For this reason I have used the green_roof=yes tag, see osm.org/browse/way/37015658.
