Coming relatively late to OpenStreetMap, but with a GIS background, I have been confronted to the lack of data in some countries I have been working in (mainly Tajikistan and Afghanistan). OSM clearly is an amazing way to fill the data vacuum down there :-)

So, my interests are in contributing to OSM in general, but mainly as part of the HOT activities.
