First part of Riesenbeck

Posted by skohlmann on 17 March 2009 in English. Last updated on 18 March 2009.

I had added Riesenbeck along general lines. For mapping I used a car and a Nokia N85 and a Nokia N79. Still missing the extension of Gelsbach on the south side of the Heinrich-Niemeyer-Straße with the Grüner Winkel. Also the Alte Birgter Straße and the harbor are not correct. I'll fix the bugs in April when a stay again in Riesenbeck.

Berlin - some error fixing around Volkspark Friedrichshain

Posted by skohlmann on 25 December 2008 in English. Last updated on 26 December 2008.

At the south west side of the Volkspark Friedrichshain the name of the street between Büschingstraße and Friedensstraße was renamed to the correct name Platz der Vereinten Nationen. Former name was «Landsberger Allee» - see history.

At the north side I've added the living street Am Schweizer Garten and a node for the Hotel Victors's. The last both adds are inspired by entries in OpenStrettBugs.

See trace.

Berlin between Mollstraße and Karl-Marx-Allee

Posted by skohlmann on 22 December 2008 in English. Last updated on 23 December 2008.

I've added some footways and service ways in Berlin between Mollstraße and Karl-Marx-Allee. There are some service ways for the buildings made with precast concrete slabs. I also fix the name of the street between Bezirksamt Mitte and the housenumber Karl-Marx-Allee 3. Former the name was Weydemeyerstraße - I'll ask some residents between housenumbers Karl-Marx-Allee 5 and 11. They know the name of the street as Karl-Marx-Allee and not Weydemeyerstraße («Weydemeyerstraße? No, it's down there…»).

The crossing between Karl-Marx-Allee and Berolinastraße at Bezirksamt Mitte is closed for cars using bollards. I'll change the name from «Lichtenberger Straße» to «Platz der Vereinten Nationen» and add the missing car way between the two Weydemerstraße parts.

At least, I also add all housenumbers in the quater - the housenumbers of Weydemeyerstraße: chaotic.

Nokia N85 tracking in Berlin

Posted by skohlmann on 15 November 2008 in English. Last updated on 23 December 2008.

Today tried out the GPS with the new Nokia N85. On a walk with my daughter I tracked the two small parks between Ebertystraße and Hausburgstraße. Additionaly some footways in a park at Hausburgstraße. The first two parks are in the urban canyons of Berlin. Old buildings with flats and low distance between the buildings. As expected the track was not good. The waypoints in the last park were still better - lower buildings and much more distance between them.

I use Nokias Sports Tracker (1.82). The programm supports export to the GPX format.

Add missing Agnes-Wabnitz-Straße

Posted by skohlmann on 11 November 2008 in English. Last updated on 23 December 2008.

Agnes-Wabnitz-Straße in a development area in Berlin Pankow was still missing. Also missing the name of the Kurt-Exner-Straße. I also add the description of the eponym and a link to Wikipedia and fix the Erich-Nehlhans-Straße which is the Walter-Friedländer-Straße on the north side of the Thearstraße.
