I understand the issue is that you have to manually copy and paste the tags from the node into the new building which can be time consuming; unfortunately that feature isn't yet available in id, the editor - https://github.com/openstreetmap/iD/issues/839

hi corgi, thanks for mapping in youngstown, just a note for the future: don't add the tag of the feature twice, as had done here shown in the photo - https://i.imgur.com/pjJgYO4.png
in this case, OSM thinks there are two churches, since there's one tagged on a node and one the way! ;)

Instead, just use the place of worship tag once on the building if you drew the building or on a single node if you didn't draw the building.

thanks for mapping these Bill! I don't work in Central any more so I haven't been mapping that area.

Hi,

Thanks for editing and welcome to OSM!
Most of your edits were a-ok!

I noticed that a few of the places that you added already existed (osm.org/node/4868045306 and osm.org/way/99729710) so I had deleted them.

(You can add things either as points or polygons, depending whether the business takes up the entire building, then it's ok to draw it as a polygon).

If you have any questions, feel free to ask me. by sending a message.

hi,

thanks for editing, but in this changeset, you had removed tags from several ways that I had already added (and personally have visited these places). These tags provided extra detail.

For example:
osm.org/way/565521261
osm.org/way/565521253
osm.org/way/547700139
osm.org/way/565521248

As far as I understand, my tags weren't incorrect; please share if they were.

Regards,
will

Hi,

thanks for editing and welcome to OpenStreetMap. Although it was not your intention, there were a couple changes that you made on the map; like moving hotels and kinko's to the street; these changes affect everyone on the map and are public.

You generally should draw the hotel/place of interest where it's exactly located.

I've fixed your edits at osm.org/changeset/65873505 ; if you have any questions or need assistance, feel free to ask.

regards,
will.

Hi Bruce, I didn't recognize your user name ( SABiltongHunter).
Thanks for your understanding and time that you've dedicated to OSM.

We take an incremental approach here in that if some information is missing (like the name of the building), that is okay. If you do know additional information and are able to add more details (name, hours of operation, etc) that is always encouraged but it is not required.

Some good practices are at osm.wiki/Good_practice

freebeer has assisted with your revert which undid your deletions.

hi thanks for editing, but there were a lot of items that you had deleted here. Was that your intention? Were all of these deleted buildings really demolished? If the deletions were unintentional, we'll be able to get them back without redrawing them.

Hi, thanks for editing but that doesn't appear to be a park; just a house.

I've changed it to a house - osm.org/changeset/64978222

Hi, thanks for editing; but one of your edits was incorrect - osm.org/way/107488929
is in fact under construction right now and no building there exists. I've since updated it again to construction.

hi, thanks for the fixes but as a result of your edit in the changeset;
JOSM is reporting that osm.org/way/55552330 intersects with West Huron road and it does not; they are at different grades (the osm.org/way/55552330 is below ground.)
Shouldn't osm.org/way/55552330 then get a layer=-1 tag? I'd appreciate your assistance.

hey Max, thanks for editing (we met at SOTM-US In seattle in 16)

The edits look mostly good - I never knew about the traffic_signals:direction tag!

My question is about osm.org/node/105564308 at euclid and east 9th.

See https://www.mapillary.com/app/?pKey=MegaXdC5CsSSaFQqn0d5Hg&focus=photo&lat=41.49978099&lng=-81.68618319&z=17

that photo is of 9th and Euclid, on 9th, just south of Euclid.

From reading osm.wiki/Key:traffic_signals:direction - I don't think traffic_signals:direction is the most appropriate tag since both nodes (the one mentioned above and osm.org/node/1140215394 - connect two separate highways (euclid and 9th).

I'm sorta running out of time on this right now, just doing this on a quick break at work and I didn't make any changes to them; feel free to take a look at it later or i'll try to remember to also figure it out later too.

Hi,

Thanks for editing but in the future; please do not remove the layer tag.

The layer tag is important and needed to signify that a bridge or other feature is above another feature (like a road).

For example, osm.org/way/98735409 - the layer=1 tag is needed to demonstrate that the railroad is above and that East 79th does not intersect it.

see osm.wiki/Key:bridge for more information or feel free to ask me for clarification.
