The page for bicycle_street says it needs explicit signage.

You set the branch of Pandora south of the green and the U turn lanes to 30 in this change but the official city map shows that's still a future change. https://vicmap.maps.arcgis.com/apps/instant/basic/index.html?appid=76f214f9e13245d9b30d06fcc4b16d7e

Did you see actual signs in place and the official map is out of date?

I suppose someone might argue that it's a "sidewalk" for the pat bay which would make it "bicycle=no" but that seems like a stretch.

I feel like there should be some way of marking these paths that don't prohibit, or even in some cases designate that cyclists are supposed to use them, but its a bad idea due to the nature of the actual built infrastructure.

bicycle=discouraged requires specific signage so it doesn't work.

Maybe measure the width from an air photo and tag that to provide a bit more context I think it was maybe 1.5 m or so?

Why did you mark the ped bridge over the pat bay as "bicycle=designated"? I saw it had signs requiring cyclists dismount. The path running north along the pat bay from it to Vanalman is also marked bicycle=designated which seems wrong based on what I saw. There were no signs marking it for cyclists and what was built was clearly designed for pedestrians. It's too narrow for bicycles to pass one another or pedestrians safely.

You marked Ross Lane as "foot=yes" "bicycle=designated" while leaving "access=no" That means foot and bicycle access are exceptions to the more general "access=no" not that they are what the access will be once general access is restored. Did you ground truth that bikes and pedestrians are now allowed through on Ross? I was under the impression it's still completely blocked off until the entire project is complete.

I'm excited to see the Gorge Road lanes get finished too (Especially the new protected intersections planned for the intersections at Tillicum and at Harriet) but please try not to get ahead of what's officially finished and available for use.

The correct way to tag that a protected bike lane is currently under construction is

construction:cycleway=track

not

cycleway=track
construction=yes

The construction tag is supposed to be used to clarify when

<waytype>=construction is also tagged.

What you've tagged could best be understood as that the cycle track is complete, but some sort of other undefined construction is taking place.

Why did you mark North Park Street `access=no`

Why are you tagging these as allowing cycling on the sidewalk? I checked Ludgate, Bay between Government and Douglas, and the intersection of Blanshard and Hillside.

Ludgate doesn't have sidewalks at all while the other two have them but don't have any indication that cycling is allowed. Both the MVA and Victoria Bylaws prohibit cycling on sidewalks unless there is specific signage permitting it (Such as on the east side of Tillicum between Burnside and Sims) There is also some weirdness such as indicating cyclists are allowed to ride counterflow on the slip lanes at Blanshard and Hillside.

I've fixed the ones I've checked in person but it looks like you've done a lot more in this changeset and others with the same tags.
