Hello! I see that you have added free-flying takeoff area in Bir, but in the process have deleted old nodes with same information that has a history of 10+ years. Why would you delete these nodes? You could have easily made your changes by keeping the historical changes intact. Thank you.

Node: CHC, Bir (6267947860) is lacking the amenity tag. was this an error? are there other such nodes with missing amenity tags?

Any reason for deleting the ATC tower and fire station that were mapped here?

Hi! I don't see an aerodrome or an air strip using satellite imagery near the node 6257551074 that you have mapped: osm.org/node/6257551074

Are you sure there is an air strip around here?

I think you misunderstood me. I'm not asking about the naming of the peak. I'm refering to the deletion of Node: 2377026953, which was formerly the Chatkar/Rising Star peak. You deleted this node which had a history of over 6 years only to create a new one by the same name. I'm trying to understand as to why you did this as you could have simply modified the old node instead of deleting it.

It is a good practice to preserve history by not deleting old nodes, and simply editing them instead, as suggested in the OSM wiki here: osm.wiki/Good_practice#Keep_the_history

URL of the old node and it's history: osm.org/node/2377026953/history

URL of the new node that you created after deleting the old one: osm.org/node/6352544718/history

Hello Matrix Machine,

Just curious as to why you deleted the Chatkar (Rising Star) peak (Node: 2377026953) which had a history of over 6 years, and created a new one with the same name (and data) in it's place?

Hi Tonushka! As per my knowledge, the roads that you have connected are not connected anymore. Are you absolutely sure that these are connected? Thanks!

Hi Arun, ofcourse I know you :)
I haven't tried getting the ward maps, and I wonder if the local panchayat also has them. I could try and ask the locals for the information on the ward boundaries. They have now put street signs with names for every street in Rakkar. I intend to mark them all on OSM.

Hi, Thank you for the suggestion. I will use DigitalGlobe Premium for my edits in the future. Is the imagery available for most of the Peninsular Malaysia and Borneo?

Thank you Heinz_V,

This has been of great help.

Found another source (in the India:National_Highways Talk page) that mentions the further extension of the highway in Maharashtra, terminating near Bramhapuri: http://egazette.nic.in/WriteReadData/2017/173465.pdf

Thank you very much for the information.

Hi,

I see you have mapped the National Highway 543. I'm looking for the source of information on this highway. I have searched (quite extensively) on the internet for this, and all I have come across is this OSM wiki page with a list of Indian National Highways: osm.wiki/India:National_Highways_(new_numbering)

However, the problem with that list is the sources it lists for the information have no mention of NH543. I was wondering if you might be able to help me find a source.

Thanking you.

Sohail.

The area where I found place=county being used: osm.org/#map=14/22.410449208230098/79.68062048906603

Hello Srihari and Michael,
I was tracing the roads and villages in the area, and I stumbled upon this conversation. Has there been an update on this? While I could have changed it to district, but I couldn't find the "district" tag in the dropdown for "place" in JOSM. Also, I wasn't sure if using place=district is useful to use without boundaries.
Thanks.
