Hi spyderkavin, I've reverted your changeset. It contained a lot of errors and inaccurate data.

Hi aselvadeasfalto, thanks for your response.

For some reason my revert only deleted about 8% of the orphan nodes, so I'll try to get someone with more experience to look into the issue

I did my revert using the osm-revert site (https://revert.monicz.dev/). It's very user friendly, I prefer it over the JOSM reverter. It usually works just fine lol.

Hi nitemoon,

Please make sure to select the building and press q after you draw it, it squares the building. :)

A Facebook group doesn't have the authority to completely ignore OSM guidelines.

Could you be more specific as to how you are planning on fixing these low quality imports and when you're planning to do so?

In the future when doing huge imports like these you should not only check the data quality before uploading, but also make a wiki page so people can find more information about the purpose and status of the import.

Hi aselvadeasfalto, this changeset has left quite a lot of orphan nodes. Are you planning on finishing this import?

My bad! Thanks for pointing that out :)

You really shouldn't be submitting unfinished data to OpenStreetMap, especially not when you know that said data is low quality. It's up to you to process and review the data before it's uploaded, not afterwards.

The data you've been uploading is practically worthless, it can't be used for anything because it's highly inaccurate, so uploading it before reviewing has no benefits to either the OSM community or OSM users. In fact I'd say the data you've been uploading is actually harmful, it's full of buildings crossing highways and other buildings.

Hey Superadlen,

I've noticed you've been adding a large amount of buildings, seemingly AI generated. A large amount, some would say the majority of these buildings are too low quality to be on OSM. AI generated buildings should not be imported without thorough checking and fixing which has not been done in your case. Many of these buildings don't even exist which you would have noticed had you checked your changeset before uploading.

Some examples of low quality buildings
osm.org/way/1206674507
osm.org/way/1206674428
osm.org/way/1206674516

On top of that some of your changesets have resulted in large amounts of orphan nodes being uploaded, filling the database with unnecessary data.

Hi Taya,

Is this also applicable for buildings that contain both an apartment an a business? I don't know for sure but I believe the ground floor of this shop is used as a business and the other floors are a home.

Hi jr conlin, welcome to OpenStreetMap!

You forgot to add a colon in the opening hours, please always make sure to double check your edits to avoid uploading mistakes.

I fixed the opening hours tag formatting, you can find my changeset here.

Hi Stileo, I was just looking over some of your edits and wanted to make a few suggestions.

Please make sure that any crossings you create are connected to the roads they cross, and connect them to sidewalks on each end. Please also try not to make sidewalks cross other features such as buildings. If a sidewalk does actually go under a building iD will give you a suggestion to mark it as lower.

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions!

Hi montaneman!

The trail still exists, and should thus be mapped on OSM. To signify that the path is no longer accessible to the public I've added the access=no tag. You can find my changeset here.

You can find more info about the access=no tag here.

Hi retypepassword, welcome to OpenStreetMap!

A node already exists for Babes Ice Cream, if you want to update the business info please modify the already existing node. You can find the node here.

I just don't see a benefit to removing detail unless it's so excessive that it becomes entirely useless (buildings with huge node counts as a result of bad imports for example). If someone feels that a certain amount of detail is unnecessary they can choose to compress the data they use, or remove certain parts of it outright. OSM is supposed to contain detailed and accurate data, not simplified data.

Also trees render in [StreetsGL](https://streets.gl/#37.80270,-122.41233,39.00,0.00,362.23) which I think is really cool.

I do want to reiterate that if you see an unmapped tree row I think it's fine to map it as a way, but I think the added detail of individual trees is a better alternative.
