Founds OpenStreetMap today and am very impressed. Have editted a road name near where I live but the change doesn't seem to have been applied yet. Will check again tomorrow.

Changes are applied immediately, but it can take a few hours to a couple weeks for edits to make it to all the various renderings and teardowns of the map data.

Thanks for that. The changes have now been applied so that's grand. Will try and do some more (potentially more complex) changes soon.
